Community First Grants for North Solihull Groups Open to Applications

A quick post for you all, to let you know that Solihull Sustain have announced that the Community First Neighbourhood Matched fund has re-opened in three areas of North Solihull.

Grants range from £250-£2,500 and are available for local projects that work towards each area’s priorities.

Projects applying to the Matched Fund must also match the amount they apply for with other contributions – in-kind, volunteer time or cash.

The closing date for applications in each area is 12 noon on 4th October 2013.

Don’t forget if you fit the criteria of the Community Enterprise for Success project we can help you develop your application and you may also be entitled to apply for the Community Enterprise for Success Kick Start grant of up to £2000.

RBS Inspiring Youth Enterprise Awards Open

The Royal Bank of Scotland has opened the next funding round of its Inspiring Youth Enterprise programme to support not-for-profit organisations that help young people (aged 13 to 30 years ) start their own business.

The maximum grant of £50,000 (deadline 16/09/13). The RBS Inspiring Enterprise programme offers resources to support the inspiration of entrepreneurs including in particular young people, women and social enterprise: http://www.inspiringenterprise.rbs.com/

Chelmund’s Space is a council owned asset set within a £9m new-build, multi-functional building within the Chelmund’s Cross Village Centre.

This building will house Bishop Wilson School, St Andrews Church, Excellence in the Community Centre, Healthcare offices and Chelmund’s Space.

The purpose of Chelmund’s Space is to provide a self-contained facility which can be used to benefit the local community. The benefit can be social or economic; or even both. Initial enquires have been made by social enterprise organisations.

Solihull Council are inviting expressions of interest from organisations who wish to utilise the Chelmund’s Space and can demonstrate that their activities are financially sustainable, ethical and in keeping with the surrounding users of the new Chelmund’s Cross Village Centre.
